A gap/opening was observed along the side of the roll-up shutter door (Gate #2) located in the dry storage area. , , Openings in exterior doors and shutter doors can provide points of entry for pests, increasing the risk of contamination of food, packaging materials, and food storage areas., , Ensure the roll-up shutter door (Gate #2) in the dry storage area is repaired and maintained so that it is free of gaps or openings that could permit pest entry.
The food handling permit displayed in the facility had expired. During the inspection, staff located the current valid permit and immediately replaced the expired permit with the valid permit in a conspicuous location.
The shelving units in the poultry cooler were observed to be in poor condition. Significant rust was present on the shelving surfaces. In addition, the top shelf had an accumulation of debris, dust, and organic buildup, with apparent fungal growth observed in several areas. The condition indicates that the shelving is not being adequately cleaned and maintained and may compromise the sanitary storage of food products., , Food storage shelving must be maintained in a clean and sanitary condition and in good repair. Rust, debris accumulation, and fungal growth can contaminate food and food packaging and may hinder effective cleaning and sanitizing., , Ensure all shelving within the poultry cooler is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized to remove accumulated debris, dust, organic buildup, and fungal growth. Replace or refinish rusted shelving surfaces as necessary to ensure they are smooth, cleanable, and maintained in good repair. Maintain a cleaning schedule sufficient to prevent the recurrence of buildup and contamination.
