Spoiled discoloured limes were found in the fridge adjacent to other food items. The employee told PHI that limes were not for consumption but were used instead as an odour control. Employee discarded limes during inspection. , , Spoiled limes can produce mold or pathogens which can spread to other food items that are for consumption. Please throw away limes once they are no longer edible. An alternate suggestion is to use baking soda or something similar for odour control, as it will not spoil and affect other foods.
Chicken was left on the counter to cool down for approximately 2.5 hours. Employee was asked to put it in the fridge during the inspection and complied. Please ensure when cooling food to move it to the fridge within two hours.
