1.UV disinfection for the spring water line was not operational during the inspection. UV disinfection is needed to provide multi-barrier protection and disinfection credits for protozoa. Although 3 nominal micron filters are provided at the spring water source, truck fill line in the building and supply line at the storage tank, these are not specifically credited treatment technologies for protozoa. , , 2. Line 2 and 3 production ozone contact chamber/tower was identified to have a short circuiting of inlet and outlet water, resulting in limiting and establishing the contact time credit in the chamber/tower. The ozone disinfection is needed to provide protection and disinfection 4 log reduction credit for viruses. Line 4 production zone does not appear to have a short circuiting design limitation., , 3. The storage tank production delivery lines are shared between RO, Distilled and Spring water. As the spring water is not fully treated, the shared lines introduce potential cross contamination when switching over from the spring water to municipally sourced production. It is noted that the quality assurance team has a flushing procedure but it is not incorporated as a CCP., , 4.The exhaust vents for the ozone contact chambers/towers could not be confirmed to have insect screens affixed to each of 3 vents. , , (see opening comments for required corrective action)
