1) A cashier was found wearing gloves, handling money and food. A brief consultation was given regarding proper glove use including the need to wash hands between glove changes and the need to change gloves after 4 hours. Ensure that staff use gloves properly to prevent food contamination.
1) Several foods set aside in a walk in cooler for the Food Bank were stored next to raw eggs. The food was moved during the inspection. Ensure that ready to eat foods are store separately and away from raw eggs. The food was moved during the inspection.
1) Containers of food were found with dust accumulation in the back loading dock and the back dry storage area. The staff mentioned the food would be discarded. Ensure food is kept at least 15 cm (6 in) off the floor to protect food from floor debris. Ensure that food for disposal is discarded regularly to prevent clutter that can harbour pests.
1) Shredded cheese packages were found overstocked in an open cooler unit with a probed temperature of 7 degrees Celsius. All temperature abused packages were discarded during the inspection. Ensure that open coolers are not overstocked and food maintains a temperature of 4 degrees Celsius or below.
1) A pallet of raw eggs was found in the back storage area at a temperature of 15 degrees Celsius. Since the eggs were delivered within the last 20 minutes, staff were told to move all eggs to the cooler. Ensure that all floor areas are cleaned and sanitized regularly., , 2) Bottom shelves in cooler units were found dirty with food debris. An area with fresh produce was found with food debris. Ensure that areas where food debris commonly accumulates including the bottom shelves and areas around fresh produce are cleaned and sanitized regularly to prevent contamination of food., , 3) The mop sink area was found dirty. Ensure the mop sink area is cleaned and sanitized after use. Ensure that drains in the facility are cleaned and sanitized weekly to prevent the accumulation of food and the attraction of pests.
