Staff were observed consuming hot beverages in the food‑handling area and putting on gloves to handle food without first washing their hands. PHI intervened and provided education on proper hand hygiene. Staff are strictly prohibited from consuming food or beverages while working and must use the designated staff area. The operator must ensure all staff receive refresher training on hand hygiene and correct glove use.
The hand sink was found obstructed by a cutting board. The operator was instructed that hand sinks must remain unobstructed and accessible at all times.
An expired food handling permit was observed displayed in the facility (expired January 31, 2026). The operator posted a valid permit upon request by the PHI. The new permit is valid until January 31, 2027.
The walk‑in freezer was observed with a leaking condenser. The operator was instructed to relocate the food stored directly underneath the condenser to prevent contamination until the unit is repaired by maintenance.
