1) Mouse droppings and urine markings were found behind and under the bottom shelf of dry storage units. Ensure that areas behind equipment or furniture and under the bottom shelves are cleaned and sanitized weekly. Remove the mouse droppings and urine markings using hantavirus precautions. , , 2) Numerous repleta flies and areas with fly feces and eggs were seen at the time of the inspection. Flies were found near open dirty laundry hampers, the dishwashing room especially near the compost bin, and on upper walls and on ceiling tiles. Ensure that all areas where flies are seen including drains are cleaned and sanitized weekly to prevent the harbourage of flies. Inform pest control of the presence of flies and have staff monitor where flies and fly feces are seen. Cleaning and sanitizing are the first steps to effective fly control management., , Note- a review of pest control records indicated that the facility was monitoring for mice. The staff would be contacting pest control regarding the findings from this inspection.
