QUAT sanitizer bottle did not contain any measurable QUAT solution. Operator went and refreshed the bottle in the main kitchens and it was measured to be >200 ppm. , It was discussed with the operator that this was the second time this has happened and that they need to check their dispensing system in the kitchen to ensure that it is dispensing the appropriate concentrations.
This record comes from Alberta Health Services Environmental Public Health, which inspects food premises across Alberta. Inspectors record any violations of applicable health regulations on each visit. The result above is the most recent inspection on file.
Alberta records each visit as either a routine inspection (with any violations noted) or a closed order. If you see violations listed without a closed order, the operator was allowed to continue while addressing them. A closed order means the inspector required the kitchen to stop serving customers until the issues were corrected.
The operator had a bottle of QUAT solution but there was no QUAT concentration noted when the solution was tested. , , Operator brought out a new solution from the exhibition kitchens which contained >200 ppm.
A camp jug of water with a spigot was noted at the edge of the booth. The camp jug was sitting up because it was leaking. There was no soap noted at the station, however, when this was pointed out, soap was brought to the booth immediately. , While this setup would typically be acceptable for a short-duration event, it does not meet the requirements for events lasting longer than three days, which require plumbed-in sinks with hot and cold running water., Operator was asked to bring in a footpump handwash station (these units are available at the event) to replace the leaking camp jug. , , Given that the event organizer mistakenly approved temporary food vendors without ensuring infrastructure requirements were met, Alberta Health Services is allowing this setup for this event only. The vendor and event organized has been advised that this arrangement will not be acceptable at future multi-day events.
There was no sanitizer available at the start of the event., , However, this was very quickly addressed.
