The kitchen and food storage areas were located in a shared warehouse with nonfood tenants and there were inadequate barriers/separation between these businesses with food areas (especially when nonfood businesses kept bay doors open). There were gaps under delivery bay doors and door to kitchen entry. Install door sweeps, repair gaps between bay doors, and install separate wall/door between food and nonfood businesses. Doing so not only reduces risk of vermin, but also environmental contaminants and nonfood handlers from entering food areas.
Paper towel dispensers were empty in the washrooms and rolls paper towels were left on sink counters. Ensure paper towels are stored in suitable dispensers.
1) Unfinished piece of 2x4 was used to raise a prep table leg. Remove 2x4 and properly repair/adjust to level the table properly. All surfaces within a food preparation area must be smooth, nonabsorbent and easily cleanable., 2) Light fixture with open cage cover in food area was not protected with a proper cover in event that fluorescent tubes break/shatter. Either replace with shatter resistant tubes or install cover(s) that contain glass in event that tubes break.
